 Democratic party, one of the 2 major parties in USA. Currently an opposition party had their national virtual convention kicked off Yesterday, August 17, 2020. 

The convention had many senators, other party faithfuls and former first lady, Michelle Obama give speech and their reason of supporting their presidential candidate in the person of Joe Biden, the immediate former Vice President. 

Michelle Obama is the wife of immediate former President of United State. President Barrack Obama.

The convention witnessed the articulated and elated speech of the former first lady where she blasted and exposed the weakness and incompetency of Donald Trump. She also highlighted the achievement of her husband especially in the healthcare sector that has nosedived in this current administration.

In regards to the coronavirus pandemic she said Donald Trump “downplayed it for too long resulting in Americans struggling with healthcare, basic necessities and the prospect of schools reopening safely.” 

She as well condemned Trump’s approach to Black Lives Matter protests, saying "the movement was met with derision from the nation’s highest office and slamming leaders for “emboldening torch-bearing white supremacists”

“Whenever we look to this White House for some leadership or consolation or any semblance of steadiness, what we get instead is chaos, division, and a total and utter lack of empathy,”

Bishop Oyedepo Wont Criticize His Member, Yakubu Dogara If He Becomes Vice President In APC, 2023.

 

Bishop David Oyedepo, is well known as the founder of living faith church aka Winners Chapel and his feat in educational sector by the establishment of top notch universities, primary and secondary schools across the country. He is regarded as the richest pastor world wide. He has his ministry in over 100 nations of the world. He is a very influential figure in Nigeria and world over.

Many who may not have known him prior to 2015 the APC govt got into power will definitely get to know him by now considering how critical, vocal, bold, he reacts and responds to this current govt of APC under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari.

He has spoken on issues ranging from killings, the church, economy, leadership style and policies of the government of President Buhari. He is regarded as the most critical and fierce pastor who has not hid his dislike over this government of APC and the president right from day one of this government.

He has visibly spoken against the President, APC and the vice president who is also a pastor at Redeem Christian Church of God (RCCG) whose general overseer is his spiritual father, in the person of Pastor E.A. Adeboye.

Many are of the opinion that he would be different or perhaps, come to terms with APC once his member Dogara Yakubu who just defected to APC from PDP a few weeks ago, with many believing that he has been promised vice presidential slot of the APC as the party plans to zone its presidential candidate to Southern Nigeria becomes vice president.

Yakubu who hails from Bauchi, north east, is a northern christian precisely a member of living faith church who also has Bishop Oyedepo as his mentor is believed to fly the flag of APC with Bola Tinubu who is a southern Muslim alleged and tipped to be the presidential candidate of APC come 2023.

If they are fortunate enough to scale primaries and ultimately become vice president and president of Nigeria, it means a member of living faith and a son of Bishop Oyedopo will be the vice president. Just as the current vice president Yemi Osibanjo is to Pastor Adeboye.

Based on father and son relationship, i don't think if he would be fair enough to criticize him or APC as his is currently doing. No pastor would have a vice president as a member and would want to lose him especially in this contemporary time where churches are certified as true churches by the number and caliber of members they have. If it happens so, many will be disappointed in him and expose the fact that he was only being critical of Buhari based on personal issues if only what he presents as lack of leadership still exists till then.

There is a proverb that says ' what is on the wrist does not need a mirror to view it'

Is it obvious what is currently unfolding in the presidency since the start of this year.

The year 2020 has experienced unprecedented challenges of global magnitude with effect of world economy crippling coupled with high level of death rate caused by the covid-19 pandemic.

In this part of the world, it has taken the lives of prominent elites in the society. 

In the wake of this pandemic, Nigeria witnessed the passing away of the chief of staff to the president, Mallam Abba Kyari. 

Aside his position as the Chief of Staff to the Federal Govt., he was also a close ally to the president prior to his appointment. He served the president with a high sense of loyalty and dedication. 

Unfortunately, he got infected by the disease and subsequently died of it. May his Soul continue to Rest. 

As though it wasn't enough, a few months later the president had another shock. Another close ally in the person of Isa Funtua passed on. 

Aside the pandemic that has taken many lives and slowed down economic activities of the country standing as a worrisome event to the president, he has been badly hit by the loss of his close brothers cum allies.

The issue on ground is the news making rounds in the social media of Mamman Daura being flown out of the country on health matters. 

Mamman Daura is a nephew to the president. Another close ally.

As such worrisome events of the allies of the president keep unfolding within a very close interval of time, then it calls for the mass prayer for God's divine protection over the president. 

Irrespective of who you are, or religious affiliation, the president needs the prayer of every Nigerian. It is of no service to you in the sight of God and conscience wishing someone else misfortunes. Nigeria is a Godly nation, lets reflect it in our attitude towards one another.

Have you wondered why Nigeria political system is characterized and thrive through godfatherism which has impeded development & progress and deprived the people their democratic power?

  

Until Nigeria fixes her electoral system and processes to be independent, rid of manipulation, and reflect the people's will, good governance is far fetched. 

god father cum electoral systems have taken over the people's constitutional and democratic power of choosing their leaders. 

Nowadays, people no longer make aspirants winners rather gaining god-father's support makes you a winner.

When the power to choose and elect leaders no longer resides with the people it births lack of accountability, impunity, weak systems, lack of transparent operations and processes in public institutions and affairs which all produce ineffective leadership and bad governance. What a vicious cycle!!!

  Now the case is god-father cum corrupt electoral system vs The people

To further deepen the understanding of the message conveyed in this article, what would be the answer to this question below?

As a governor who are you answerable or accountable to between a god-father cum corrupt electoral system that gave you power as against the people whose power is a mere camouflage ? Definitely the god father! You only respect your source of power otherwise you face his wrath just as Gov. Obaseke is facing currently all because power does not reside with the people.

When the power to select and elect leaders resides on an individual (god father) the people become irrelevant and their interest becomes secondary to the leader. The interest of a source of power ( be it a group of god fathers or one) will always be the primary purpose of the beneficiary of the power which defeats the purpose of Democracy. 

In every system of government, a source of power ( king maker) will always stand to benefit most. 

In a monarchy system of government, the monarch is perceived to be as rich as his kingdom as the wealth of the kingdom are his. As seen in countries like Brunei, Arab families in Arab world. This is so because the power does not come from the people. In such areas good governance, transparency and accountability to the people is a choice and not a necessity because the power does not come from the people. 

In the case of Dubai, and other colleague states that are experiencing developmental strides and good governance was a voluntary choice of the Monarchs who have the heart and interest of the people at heart. They can choose to go otherwise and there wouldn't be any call for a change of leadership because the power doesn't come from the people.

The same vein in military regimes. A dictator can rule as long as he wants irrespective of his inhuman nature of governance and lack of care to the people because the power doesn't come from the people. 

It is against this backdrop that Democracy came into existence and took the front-line. It was long over due for power to return and reside with the people to entrench accountability, transparency, common wealth among the people, development and security as attributes of good governance. 

Any practice contrary to this, where an individual or a group of individuals ( god-fathers) are more powerful than the people, it is no longer democracy being practiced. The people are at the mercy of the power source (god fathers) for good governance.

This is evidenced in some instances, where an individual power source, falls out with the beneficiary of the power ( god son) when the god son refuses to give access or allot common wealth of the people to the power source ( god father). 

lets take a practical instance in the recent political development in Edo state.

Edo state governor, Godwin Obaseke before his disqualification from participating in the Edo APC primary election, went about visiting bourdillon and Aso rock soliciting and begging for supports. You know this support is not the kind of support ordinary people give. This support is victory in itself. In the real sense of it, this is the kind of support that should reside with the people. 

If the people actually had this support (true power to elect) Obaseke wouldn't bother visiting an estranged god fathers trying to mend ways rather he would mend ways with the people.

He knows the corrupt electoral processes and systems that brought him to power. And such is glaring in his face to depose him. The people didn't elect him and the people cant remove him . Only what brought him to power can remove him. And that's exactly his fate now.

Now one would ask, where are the powers that reside with the people? 

Where is the democracy we claim to be practicing ? 

The answer is simple.

They have been hijacked by the god-fathers through unfair and manipulative electoral systems and processes. 

The people are just playing to the gallery. Their powers are fake, voiceless and action-less. That is why many who have come to the realization of this, don't bother themselves with voting because it has become exercise in futility. 

Now what is the way forward for the people to regain their constitutional electoral power?

Simple! 

Lets brainstorm and develop electoral system and processes that convey and put the people's will to action.

Electoral system and process that only has one voice which is the voice of the people.

Electoral system and process that is devoid of rigging and manipulation. 

With such reformed and adequate system in place, any political leader who wants to remain relevant in power, will have no option than to act in the collective interest of the people which is good governance. And in turn, trigger patriotism in the people. As accountability and good governance births patriotism and development. 

When power truly resides with the people, political leaders become effective and take up their responsibilities to the people with adequate impact and when there is adequate impact there is patriotism and the presence of patriotism produces unity and collective pursuit of national goals which results in growth and development. virtues cycle!!!

No matter the level of rot in the electoral system, it is very achievable.

 As seen in developed democracies, the faith and confidence of the people in their electoral system is very intact because it reflects their will, hence serve as benchmark to the leaders to work for the sole interest of the people always.

HOW TO CHOOSE A SPOUSE IN THE PERFECT WILL OF GOD

Before I commence in this all important subject, I deem it very important to state that I am not an authority in Marriage counselling Or Marital issues, but (1John 2:27) tells us that the anointing we receive of him teaches us ALL THINGS, ( JOHN 14:26) But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, Whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

The Holy ghost is a Universal teacher, he teaches us all things, including, what to eat and what not to, how to dress, what job to do, which city to live, also how to choose a spouse in the perfect will of God.

Basically the ability to predict, forecast, project or foresee tomorrow is beyond nature, is supernatural because our natural senses is not designed to knows more than it has the knowledge or experienced,

Greater than the ability to foretell tomorrow is the capacity to predict human behavior and future character with maximum precision and accuracy, understanding that the ordinary passage of time changes people,

Among all critical life decisions , marital choice is the most difficult especially for a believer for reasons which includes:

1. That Satan knows that God hates Divorce ( Mal 2:16), so once you go into a wrong marriage, that is a terminal mistake, any attempt to pull out will expose you to more difficulties or get you into serious problem with God,

2. A wrong marital choice or marital mistake will not only limit or hinder the fulfillment of your ministry but also make your christian race a very difficult one, Satan also knows this,

3. When you marry a serpent seed, daughter of Cain, Daughter of Jezebel or any of the Sons of this world then Satan automatically becomes your in-law, so destruction is unavoidable, that was why God warned the children of Israel and Solomon more to avoid women from other nations, (Deut 7:3-) Neither shalt thou make marriages with them, thy daughters thou shalt not give unto his son, nor his daughter shalt thou take unto thy son,
For they will turn away thy son from following me, that they may serve other gods, so will the anger of the Lord be kindled against you and destroy thee suddenly,

(1kings 11: 1-2) But king Solomon lived many strange women (Daughters of other gods) together with the daughter of Pharaoh, women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Zidonians and Hettites,
Of the nations concerning which the Lord said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall not ho into them, neither shall they come into you, for surely they will turn away your heart after their gods, SOLOMON CLAVE UNTO THESE IN LOVE,

Now let's see what that resulted to for Solomon, (1Kings 11:6-8) And Solomon did evil in the sight of the Lord and went not fully after the Lord as did David his father,
Then did Solomon build an high place (Shrine or Idol altar) for Chemosh, the abomination of Moab in the hill that is before Jerusalem and for Molech, the abomination of the children of Ammon,
And likewise did he for all his strange wives, which burnt incense and sacrificed unto their gods, Solomon the son of David, David a man after God's heart, ended up in idolatry simply because of wrong marital choices,

One of the actions that qualified king Ahab as all time most evil king of Israel's was marrying Jezebel a daughter of Ethbaal King of the Zidionians and a priest of Baal, (1Kings 16:30-31) after that marriage check what idolatry became in Israel under Ahab,

Jehoshaphat king of Judah a good king, but his son Jehoram did that which was evil in the sight of God (2Chronicles 21:6) simply because he married Athaliah daughter of Jezebel,

The first national project Jehoram undertook (2Chronicles 21:4) Now when Jehoram was risen up to the kingdom of his father, he strengthened himself and slew all his brethren with the sword and divers also princes of Israel,

That is the power and influence wrong marriage can command,

A wrong marriage is simply a marriage contracted outside of the perfect will of God,

The social, conventional or normal ways of choosing husbands and wives among cultures and societies differs from Christian marital beliefs, because most cultures permits, separation, divorce, remarriage, or even extra marital affairs when challenges surface, but our faith doesn't permit that,

Not all good brother or sister will be a good husband or wife to you, especially when you are a minister with calling in the five-fold ministry.

The big question again is HOW DO I IDENTIFY THE PERFECT WILL OF GOD FOR MY MARRIAGE???

(Roman 12:2), told us that there is the good, permissive and perfect will of God in everything, and gave us the assignment to prove (examine) or find it out,

I am very sure that every believer will love to walk in the perfect will of God.

To identify the perfect will of God for marriage there are rules and guidelines one must follow carefully;

1. You must be born again, you must be a Christian, because ( 1 Cor2:14), But a natural man receiveth not the things of the spirit of God, for they are foolishness unto him, neither can he know them because they are spiritually discerned,

(John 2:24) tell us that God is a spirit, flesh and blood cannot walk with God, you must be a spiritual man, besides, you can't use the bible to solve the problem of an unbeliever because he won't believe the word of God, that is what makes him an unbeliever, so if you must marry according to the perfect will of God, you should able to communicate God,
You need to be spirit filled to Keep Hebrews 13:4, the bed must be undefiled, this will not be easy for an unbeliever.

2. At the point of your Conversion, transformation encounter with God, their are things he will reveal to you about your self, he will give you the manual of your life, that event is called SELF DISCOVERY OR REALIZATION, is a basic requirement for SELF ACTUALIZATION or FULFILLMENT OF PURPOSE,
So you need to know the purpose of your creation first before you can work to fulfill it and that is where the journey discover your life partner begins,

In that process of self realization, God will show you, not just what you WANT or DESIRE for today and tomorrow but what you NEED or REQUIRE, because sometimes our biggest challenge in this journey is the conflict or disagreement between what we want and what we actually need, God knows us even before we were formed in the womb, so he knows not just what we need today, but also all we will ever need till eternity,

A perfect understanding and clarity on what we need is the point where most of us miss it, especially Ministers,

God may be saying that you need a sister or brother that has been equipped with the complimentary skills & virtues you need for the fulfillment of your purpose, but your desire is a tall, fair, well shaped, outspoken sister, with good family background and stable job preferably oil & gas, banking or telecom job, who might not be spiritually compatible with your destiny and purpose, many have made shipwreck of their ministries, injuring their purpose and calling beyond remedy simply with this kind of canal choice,

So at this point of self realization the Lord will give you an idea of the type of woman you need, and you journey to spiritual development and maturity still continues.

3. There is always a distance between, "IT SHALL COME TO PASS IN THE PROCESS OF TIME, and IT CAME TO PASS IN THE FULLNESS OF TIME"
so when the fullness of time for your marriage is come,

As a brother don't go and start searching for a woman by socializing and looking at sisters faces, you might get into trouble with sisters, with such approach,

That is one common mistake brothers make, we make choice by sight and physical qualities, start a relationship and then come to God to seek counsel, to enquire if she is the right person or not,

That is a blunder and most of it end up in marriage by permissive will of God, and when challenges start couples will say "But we prayed and God asked us to go ahead"

There are important things we need to know about God, (Psalm 103:7) He made his ways known unto Moses and his Acts unto the children of Israel,
There is a difference between the ways of God and his acts, if you want to grow in the things of the spirit, seek to know the ways of God more than his Acts, forget jumping on prophecies, miracles, signs and wonders for those craving for them, face the word of God that you may know him, because only they that know their God in this age will be strong and do exploits (Daniel 11:32),

So make sure you start the first step with God, he is the Alpha and Omega, don't plan your trip, commence your journey, get to the road and start inviting God to lead you, because of the warning he gave prophet Ezikel,

Ezekiel 14:4, Therefore speak unto the them and say unto them, thus sayeth the Lord God, Every man of the house of Israel that setteth up his idol in his (MAKE A DECISION IN YOUR HEART), and putteth the stumbling block of his iniquity before his face, and come to the prophet, I the Lord will answer him that cometh according to the multitude of his idols,

Verse 9, And if the prophet be deceived when he has spoken a thing, I the lord have deceived that prophet...., That is the God that we are dealing with,

For instance, you have already Started relationship, already in love with each other or you have already agreed to marry each other before coming to seek counsel from God, that is a serious mistake that Christians make again,
If that is your case, our God is a merciful God, go and seek mercy for taking him for granted and submit your will to him,

While seeking his counsel or waiting on him, you must be open and willing in your heart to follow his direction when he leads,because sometimes is very difficult to advise people in love, infact it is difficult to hear the voice of God while in Love, especially when the direction is against your desires,

Here we are talking about believers not worldly people, so the issue of fornication shouldn't be mentioned here, but the worst happens when fornication is involved because sexual intimacy is a strong bond that ties the soul,
As soon as that happens, it becomes almost impossible to discern the voice of God, even parents cannot separate a wrong relationship when sexual intimacy is involved, so if your relationship is in this estate, but you regret it and want to reconcile with God, you might need your pastor or a spiritual leader to guide you, you must sincerely repent, confess your sins and keep away from each other until the Lord makes his counsel known,

Our emphasy is on a Chaste and undefiled relationship between two Christians who wants the perfect will of God in Marriage,

As a Christian who has ascertained the purpose of God for your life, and is time to settle down in marriage,

Start on your knees,
If you can fast and pray to get a job, fast and pray to for healing of a Love one, fast and pray for breakthrough, fast and pray for promotion, fast and pray for House, for car, fruit of the womb, you should also fast and pray for the perfect will of God in your marriage,

Then after praying, believe and start searching by Faith, don't bother about how you will meet, God will bring that Sister or that Brother, infact how God does his works some times, as you are fasting and praying for it, that person also we be led to be praying or fasting also, it might be in a prayer meeting, after service, or even online, it can connect anywhere, but you will have the conviction that such is the person that you have been praying for, then you can go and seek sign from the lord to know if she is the one or not,

Brethren hear me in the name of the Lord, there is no place to find a husband or wife, don't go to any Church, or your village to search for a spouse, the place to search for a spouse is in the Lord, the position is on your knees, find him her in the Lord this is very important, we are in a Godless, immoral, deviant and perverse generation,

Let me conclude by saying that the perfect will of God in marriage doesn't equate or automatically translate to no challenges, the evidence of perfect will of God in Marriage is not that it will be smooth, infact sometimes sailing or travelling with lord is the roughest, because God will allow Satan to try you to test you faith, also to strengthen you and teach you patience and tolerance,

Lastly, when the bible said that we shouldn't be unequally yoked with unbelievers (2Cor 2:14), One might need spiritual sensitivity and maturity to understand who an unbeliever is, a predestined seed of God might be a worldly person today, but his or her name is in the Lambs book of life from the foundation of the world,such is not an unbeliever, that might be another Apostle Paul in the making, an unbeliever is a serpent seed, who might be a worker in the Church, Mixed Multitude, Wolve in sheep clothing,even worst wolve in Shepherd Clothing, That is why I said that is only the Lord that can give you a spouse in his perfect will, if you approach him according to due order, Selah.
