Indeed the world is in an unprecedented critical period of setback and stagnation. The COVID-19 pandemic has really wrecked havoc and untold hardship on the global citizens. A disease that began in China and spread all over the world. The world is yet to find a lasting solution to the scourge. With the prevailing rise in the case of infected people all over the world, various governments have resorted to locking down every human and economic activities that would expose people to contacting each other risking the spread of the virus.
It is on this backdrop people are asked to sit back and avoid public gathering until further notice. And as such, every activities that involves the gathering of people at a particular place is affected. Meaning, no such gathering until further notice. Precisely religious places and its likes are not to converge which has made them take a new approach of worshiping online.
A Ghanaian respected Pastor, Appostle Sam Karankye Ankrah of Royal House Chapel International has said that running church in this lock-down period online is very difficult and UNPROFITABLE.
One would wonder was church a profit oriented business whereby making profit was the main aim?
Who owns the so called PROFIT that are being made?
Is that the reason people open various worship centers for profit reasons?
Is it the same Church people sold their possessions and brought for the benefit of those who have not?
Is church now milking the people with the name of God?
Is that the reason, the church is no longer for the poor now a place for the rich?
Is that the reason prosperity gospel has flooded everywhere pulpit ?
Is the church now selling its services against the instruction of the owner of the church Lord Jesus Christ which says Freely have you received and freely should you give? (Mathew: 10:8)
What is the church actually a business of making profit because you only make profit when you are into business?
I'm shocked by the statement of this man of God.
